| Jason Busch is Managing Director
of Azul Partners. He has extensive experience as an
advisor to vendors, consultancies, analyst firms, and
end-user organizations. Prior to launching Azul Partners,
Mr. Busch led branding and market strategy for FreeMarkets
(acquired by Ariba). During his five-year tenure at
FreeMarkets, he created and spearheaded a range of functions
including strategic marketing, analyst relations and
competitive intelligence, while also leading FreeMarkets’
efforts to become a thought leader in the supply management
arena, overseeing the publication of marketing content
to drive positioning, lead generation and sales efforts.
Mr. Busch also led numerous corporate strategy, acquisition,
partnership, and channel efforts both pre- and post-IPO.
Jason has also served as a consultant with Northeast
Consulting (acquired by Wipro). At Northeast Consulting,
he advised clients in a range of industries, helping
guide their technology and planning decisions through
scenario-based analysis as well as traditional strategic
planning tools. Jason’s engagements included significant
work with technology and services vendors on corporate
and product strategy and he also crafted tactical sales
tools including strategic marketing content and ROI
analyses to drive branding and lead generation for his
clients. Prior to entering the technology arena, Jason
worked as a merchant banking analyst where he evaluated
private placements in the US and European markets.
Jason has authored over one hundred
columns and whitepapers on technology and economics.
His work has appeared in trade and business publications
in the US, Europe, and Asia. Regarded for his forward
thinking opinions, Jason has been quoted in numerous
articles, books, and academic papers and is a frequent
speaker and panelist at industry conferences. He has
also served as a guest lecturer at US and European universities.
Jason holds an MA in history from the University of
Pennsylvania. He also completed his undergraduate studies
at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a BA, cum
laude, with departmental honors, in history and English
literature. In addition, Mr. Busch has completed coursework
in the Wharton School.
